chocolate chip banana bread

My kids love this healthier banana bread! I throw it in their lunches with dried fruit, a yoghurt, and carrot sticks on the side for a healthy lunch. A simple and healthy “treat” recipe, it’s is dairy-free, contains no refined sugar, and is made with 100% whole grain flour.

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
  1. 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  2. 2 eggs, beaten
  3. 1/2 c. maple syrup
  4. 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  5. 2 c. whole wheat or spelt flour
  6. 1/4 c. ground flax
  7. 1 tbsp. chia seeds
  8. 3/4 tsp. sea salt
  9. 1 tsp. aluminum-free baking powder
  10. 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  11. 1/3 c. of chocolate chips, or 1/2 a dark chocolate bar, chopped
  1. Preheat oven to 350F. Lightly grease (or line) a loaf pan.
  2. Combine all ingredients, pour in pan and bake about 55-60 min.
  3. Make a cup of tea, put your feet up, and enjoy!
