Healthy breakfast on the table in less than 5 minutes? Yes please! This pre-made mix is a fantastic, nutrient-dense alternative to sweetened packaged instant oatmeal. It’s also super-flexible — up the dried fruits, swap nuts for seeds, add more or less maple flakes or cinnamon – whatever your family loves best! 

Instant Power Oats Mix
  1. 3 c instant or quick oats (unflavoured)
  2. 1 c chopped unsweetened dried fruit of choice (raisins, prunes, apricots, dates, cherries, or blueberries)
  3. 1/3 c chia seeds
  4. 1/3 c ground flax (flax meal)
  5. 2/3 c seeds or chopped nuts of choice (try pumpkin or sunflower seeds, or slivered almonds)
  6. 2/3 c maple flakes (local bulk store will likely carry)
  7. 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  8. 1 tbsp pumpkin pie spice (easy recipe on my blog, if you don't have or can't find!)
  1. Combine all ingredients well in a large airtight jar.
  2. To make a single serving, cover 1/2 c mixture with 2/3-3/4 c boiling water in a bowl. Stir, then cover and let sit 3 minutes.
  3. Add milk or more fruit if desired and enjoy.
